Privacy Policy

CartDeck and CartDeck Remote are developed by Forensic Intelligence, Ltd. ("we", "us", "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy.
Data Collection
CartDeck does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. All data — including your audio library, bank assignments, playlists, recordings, clip edits, as-run logs, and settings — is stored locally on your device. No data is ever sent to our servers or any third party.
Network Communication
CartDeck uses local network communication (LAN only) between the macOS host app and iPadOS remote app. This communication uses Bonjour for discovery and a custom TCP protocol for control commands. All network traffic stays on your local network. No internet connection is required.
Third-Party Services
CartDeck includes optional integration with Freesound.org for downloading sound effects. When you use this feature, your search queries are sent to Freesound's API. This is governed by Freesound's own privacy policy. No other third-party services are used.
Analytics & Telemetry
CartDeck contains no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or tracking of any kind. We do not know who uses our software, how often, or in what way.
Microphone Access
CartDeck requests microphone access solely for the recording feature. Audio recorded through the microphone is saved locally to your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
Local Network Access
CartDeck requests local network access to enable the iPad remote control feature. This permission is used exclusively for communication between the CartDeck host and CartDeck Remote apps on your local Wi-Fi network.
Authentication
Remote access credentials (username and password) are stored locally on the host Mac. Passwords are hashed using SHA-256 before storage. No credentials are transmitted to any external service.
Children's Privacy
CartDeck is a professional audio tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
